UPDATED April 21, 2008

The Adult Forum has changed its plans for April and May!!!  Instead of the book study mentioned in previous announcements, Rev. Spiegel will lead a catechesis for adults.   She will discuss liturgical questions from A-Z!   So bring your questions with you on Sunday mornings.  The goal is to deepen our understanding of theology as we begin to understand the reasons behind our actions in worship.  The study using the book by Bart Ehrman, The Lost Gospel of Judas Iscariot, previously described in LIFELINES and the bulletin will be undertaken in the fall.  So if you've already purchased the book, hold on to it!  If you haven't ordered a book you can wait to do it until later.

CALLING LAY READERS AND CHALICE BEARERS.  There will be a training for all Lay Readers and Chalice Bearers on Sunday, April 27th, following Coffee Hour.  All current and new Lay Readers and Chalice Bearers will need to attend this training in order to be licensed to serve.  If you have not previously indicated your interest in this ministry but are interested in serving please let Rev. Spiegel know prior to the training.

The YOUTH LOCK-IN is scheduled for Friday, MAY 9th.  Mark your calendars.  We will have a murder mystery party in the evening.  Watch for further details in the next few weeks.

Have you read the recent announcements about the SHARE program?  St. Thomas’ is now a host organization for SHARE (Self Help and Resource Exchange). SHARE helps stretch our food dollars.  Everyone is eligible to participate! Each month, participants pay $20 and complete 2 hours of community service and get $40 worth of food.  You can sign up for the April food package during Coffee Hour this week. Stop by the registration table and learn more about the program from Janet Webster.

Remember, Food Bank Sunday is the first Sunday of each month! Please leave donations of non-perishable food items in the baskets located in the narthex. Thank you!
